Member roles and permissions

Member roles

In Lime, each member has a role that is associated with a set of permissions. The role is defined at the time of invitation and can only be changed once the invitation is accepted (active status) from the member list.

Preset roles

Preset roles are preconfigured sets of access rights and have been created to meet the common needs of users and groups within your organization.

Custom roles

Creating custom roles allows administrators to define user roles and associate specific permissions, providing increased flexibility in member management. Whether it's to delegate responsibilities, customize access to features, or ensure platform security, creating custom roles allows for more granular access management.

Create a custom role

1. Access the Members section through the main navigation.

2. Go to the Roles tab.

3. Select the Create option.

4. Name your custom role and edit the necessary permissions for the role.

5. Click on Save.

Modify a custom role

1. Access the Members list through the main navigation.

2. Go to the Roles tab.

3. Access the role to be modified.

4. Edit the name and associated permissions for the role.

5. Click on Save.

Delete a custom role

1. Access the Members list through the main navigation.

2. Go to the Roles tab.

3. Click on the three-dot menu.

4. Click on Delete.

5. Confirm the deletion.

⚠️
It is not possible to delete a role that is assigned to members. Please reassign a new role to these members to enable deletion.

Edit the role of a member

The role is defined at the time of the invitation and can only be modified once the invitation has been accepted (active status). A member cannot change their own role. It is not possible to edit the role of a suspended or pending member.

1. Access the Members section through the main navigation. 2. From the member list, edit the role with the picklist.

Deactivate a role

The deactivation of a role reduces the options available in the platform when inviting a member. Therefore, you can decide on the roles for your organization and disable those you do not wish to use.

1. Access the Members list via the main navigation.

2. Go to the Roles tab.

3. Use the Status switch to enable or disable a role.

⚠️
It is not possible to deactivate a role that is assigned to members. Please reassign a new role to these members to enable deactivation.
