Use of codes to identify questions and answers

2 min read

Codes enable the identification and linking of identical questions and answers across different questionnaires, facilitating the analysis of results.

Codes characteristics

Optional: the use of codes is entirely optional.

Alphanumeric format: you can use letters and numbers to create your codes, providing you with maximum flexibility.

Availability during data export: when exporting the results of your questionnaires, the codes associated with questions and answers will be available as a reference option. This means you can choose to use either the codes or labels in your reports based on your analysis preferences.

Examples of code usage

Diverse respondent profiles: codes are particularly useful when the same question is phrased differently depending on the respondent. For example, if a questionnaire is intended for both patients and their caregivers, the questions may vary slightly to accommodate these two groups. By assigning codes, you can easily identify equivalent questions despite formulation differences, simplifying comparative analysis.

Aggregation of results from multiple facilities: organizations operating in multiple facilities can also benefit from codes. By assigning identical codes to questions asked in different facilities, you can aggregate results and provide a consolidated overview without compromising the specificity of data from each site.

How to use codes

Code assignment: when creating or modifying your questions, by accessing the Codes tab, you will have the opportunity to assign a code to each question and answer. Choose meaningful and consistent codes to establish clear connections.

Data export: when exporting your questionnaire data, advanced options allow for the inclusion of codes associated with questions and answers.
