Configure patient information

Create a tailored patient record by configuring a unique identifier as well as patient informations fields.

Edit patients’ unique identifier

The patient identifier is a unique number that enables you to identify patients reliably and consistently when using patient tracking features.

  1. Access the Configuration tab via the main navigation.
  1. Go to the Patients section.
  1. Click on the Edit button.
  1. Select an identifier from the options.
  1. Click on the Save button.

The patients’ unique identifier is mandatory to create a patient record.

Configure the patient information fields

There are two types of patient information fields:

  • System fields;
  • custom fields.

System fields

System fields are predefined and available by default in the platform. They are already translated and grouped by type of information.

Here are the actions you can perform on Lime fields:

  • make them mandatory or optional for creating patients;
  • display or hide them;
  • order them;

Custom fields

Custom fields allow you to add types of information that are not covered by Lime fields to your patient records.

Here are the actions you can perform on custom fields:

  • name them;
  • translate them;
  • select their format;
  • make them mandatory or optional for patient creation;
  • Display or hide them;
  • order them;
  • delete them.

Create a custom field

  1. Access the Configuration tab via the main navigation.
  1. Go to the Patients section.
  1. Click on Add.
  1. Fill in the information.
  1. Click on Save.

Delete a custom field

  1. Access the Configuration tab via the main navigation.
  1. Go to the Patients section.
  1. Click on the three-dot menu of the custom field you wish to delete.
  1. Click on Delete.

By deleting a custom field, all the data that has been collected for that field until them will be permanently deleted. We recommend you hide the field instead of deleting it.

Order information fields

Place the information field in the order and the information type of your choice.

  1. Access the Configuration tab via the main navigation.
  1. Go to the Patients section.
  1. Click on Reorder.
  1. Use the 6-dot icon to the left of the information field to drag and drop the field into the category and order of your choice.
  1. Click on Save.

Display or hide an information field

You can choose to display an information field in the patient record and in the patient creation process, or to hide it.

  1. Access the Configuration tab via the main navigation.
  1. Go to the Patients section.
  1. Click on the 3-dot menu of the field you wish to edit.
  1. Click on Edit.
  1. In the patient information field list, under Display, check the box to display the field or uncheck it to hide it.

For existing patients, the data associated with the newly hidden field will be kept and displayed again when the field is reactivated.

Edit an information field

  1. Access the Configuration tab via the main navigation.
  1. Go to the Patients section.
  1. Click on the three-dot menu of the field you wish to edit.
  1. Click on Edit.

For Lime fields, nothing can be edited except whether the field is mandatory or optional.
