Export answers manually

You can export the answers of a survey manually, in PDF, Excel, CSV or XML format.

  1. Access the list of Surveys via the main navigation.

  2. Go to the survey detail page.

  3. Click on the Responses tab.

  4. Filter the results according to your needs (periods, cohorts, etc.). The results displayed on the screen will be those that will be exported.

  5. Click on the Export button.

  6. Choose a data format (PDF, XLS, CSV, or XML).

  7. Choose export options.

  8. Click on the Download button.

The download may take a few minutes depending on the amount of data requested. The report will automatically download when it is ready. It is important to keep your browser open during the download.

Export answers into Power BI

Import responses from a Lime survey into Power BI to create your own visualizations.

Before proceeding with the following steps, make sure you have configuration rights to your Power BI, or that Power BI has been configured to receive data from Lime. Contact your Power BI administrator for more information.

Step 1: Create an API key in Lime

To create a key, see the Manage API keys article. When creating the API key, you must choose the Export Responses scope.

Step 2: Retrieve the Power BI link associated with the survey in Lime

  1. Access the list of Surveys via the main navigation.

  2. Go to the survey detail page.

  3. Click on the Responses tab.

  4. Click on the Export button.

  5. Choose the Power BI data format.

  6. Choose export options.

  7. Click on the Copy Link button, and keep the link in a safe place.

Step 3: Configure Power BI

  1. Open Power BI.

  2. Click on the Get Data button.

  3. Choose the Web option.

  4. Select the Advanced option.

  5. In the URL parts field, insert the Power BI link from the survey.

  6. In the HTTP request header parameters (optional) field, type "api-key".

  7. In the field on the right, insert your API key.

  8. Click on OK.

  9. Then select the sheet you want to use.

  10. Click on Load.

  11. Build your visualization.

Export options

The export options allow you to display different information in the different reports. Please note that the options may vary depending on the data format you have selected.






Power BI



Allows you to anonymize, or not, personally identifiable information (PII), for questions where this option is enabled.

Include comments

Allows you to include comments from respondents.

Include performance data

Allows you to include performance data such as response rates, number of sendings and responses, event dates, etc.

Include dimensions

Allows you to see the scores of the dimensions.

Include progression and dropout

Allows you to see the % of progress and abandonment for each question, for respondents who started the survey without completing it.

Include incomplete responses

Allows you to view incomplete responses.
